Skeppsmaln, 14 July 2016 - 63°11.458'N 19°0.916'E

After a new day under spinnaker, we arrived in Skeppsmaln, a Lilliput village where Gulliver Belisama is quite noticed. By the way, this is the first time I anchored from the back, stern to the jetty with Belisama. The start of a long series.

Skeppsmaln is an interesting place. The moraines we went along in the past days are over, and now the coast is more elevated with cliffs.

It was another day with solar winds, going from NW in the morning to SE at 13:00, back to NE in the late afternoon. As we departed by 10 this morning, we could take full advantage of the southern winds under spinnaker for the whole day, heading for Umeå where we will  pick our German friends.

Earlier on, I tested using both the genoa and the trinquette by side winds with success. The trinquette added 0.5 knots to the genoa/main sail combination. Interesting.

The sky was quite dramatic today again, with huge cumulus developing over day over the coastline. We could hear the thunder in it, just like yesterday.

Heavy rain under the cumulus along the coastline.

Additional meteor encounters, these waves of Kelvin-Helmholtz, indicating a strong conflict at the interface of air layers. Indeed, the weather forecast is for a change tomorrow, with a cold front and rain coming in.

The entrance in Skeppsmaln is so small that you do not have time to think about it. As you move, there is no way back until you reach the end, hoping to have a spot at the dock... Which we had.
