A foggy journey from Hudiksvall to Kuggören - 11 July 2016

We arrived yesterday night in Hudiksvall for replenishing fresh food in the boat. Apart from good footsore and system bolaget, Hudiksvall is not worth the 12 miles detour it imposes for whoever wants to head north. In any case, we needed fresh food, and a System bolaget, so we enjoyed the stop. After visiting the church, and shopping at the Hemköp, we decided to move on, by 17:00, for Kuggören...

Kuggören, from the SXK buoy in the bay.
One of the attraction of Hudiksvall is the church, with its trompe-l'oeil altar. The church is the oldest building in the city, and was attacked by the Russian in 1721. A canon ball hit the wall of the church and was exposed there, until it got stolen. Now, you can see a replica of the canon ball as the real one was stollen. Waouh! We have not resolved the question whether the trompe l'oeil altar is symmetrical of not.It looks like more stretched to the right. But is this an illusion?

Earlier in the day, we receive another picture of Belisama taken from "Flocon de mer". Nice picture. Thanks +++

Getting bored in Hudiksvall after a few hours, we decided to move on and departed by 17:00, for Kuggören. A very thick fog fell on us as we got out of the harbour. This was a good opportunity to experience Belisama radar in full details.

Ridding along a foggy coast.
We finally made it to Kungören, to find that a boat was occupying the SXK buoy that we were hoping for. And by chance, again, it was Flocon de mer, the French 395 OVNI of Christophe and Florence. They offered us to share the buoy as the forecast is for no wind! Two sisters aligned by chance (and by the alignment of the stars...).
