No way Wednesday 12 May, next is Thursday 13 May

Yesterday, the forecast was indicating a good window for passing through the Four and Raz-de-Sein on Wednesday morning. But today, the Arome model, which is probably the best close range forecast model is indicating up to 20 m/s (40 knots/Beaufort 9) South of the Raz-de-Sein around tomorrow noon, which is clearly prohibitive of any attempt to go through.

Windy wind gust forecast for Wednesday 12, 14:00. No way to get through even with back winds...

So we had another day waiting in Aber-Wrac'h...

The weather was as below and we could feel it. As the storm came, we doubled the mooring lines and moved all fenders to the pier side.

Forecast for today in the afternoon, gust winds (40 knots, Beaufort 9)

So, we started the day late morning, went fetching a couple dozen oysters, enjoyed them at lunch, and got to the west beaches, sure that some sailors would love these wind conditions. And we got what we were aiming at!

Sailing such winds on a kite surf requires experience and...  helmet, obviously. Quite a few kite surfers were killed when landing on rocks.

They go rocket speed!

... jump 10 meters and more above sea level for fun...

But this is not weather conditions for us in the Four channel and Raz-de-Sein.

So we will patiently wait for the next window of opportunity on Thursday morning...

See you there then!
