A day in Kyrkesund, 22 July

On 22 July, we decided to get a day of rest and visit the Pilane sculpture park situated a few kilometres from the guest pier. A quiet refreshing day indeed...

The guest pier at Kyrkesund

Kyrkesund is a very nice stopover, in particular because of the Pilane sculpture park a few kilometres from the guest pier. However, be aware that there is no food-store or restaurant easily accessible.

The sculpture park is located a few kilometres from the guest harbour. One of the first sculpture displayed is one that we already saw in Artipelag couple of years ago. Always so impressive, especially when a young kid stand in front of it in the same king of suits!

Out/Giant, by Charlotte Gyllenhammar, already displayed in Artipelag.
Then, a statue probably inspired from Lewis Carroll Alice in wonderland.

The title "Paradox owned the pilgrim" from Donald Baechler, sounds a bit more esoteric!

The Anna sculpture is most impressive in fact. When looked from a distance, it seems to be floating along the clouds above the hills. A very inspiring spot indeed.
