Last day in Sassnitz - 15 July

The whole crew is back and we are eager to depart from Sassnitz to Klinteholm, Denmark. However, the forecast was for a fantastic sunny day, without significant wind, and if wind, right in the nose... While tomorrow, we should have lateral good wind all the way for the 50+ miles. No hesitation, but another day in Sassnitz!

I start with a long due diving morning. I had noticed for long time that the bow thruster was not very effective, and I though I might have some barnacles on the propellers. A quick inspection by diving showed that two blades of the right propeller were broken, but more importantly, that the propeller was no longer turning with its shaft! Luckily, I had a spare one. Not that easy to change it under water, fearing to loose parts and tools. Below are the pictures of the broken propeller. On the left, the two faulty propeller blades. On the right, the inside of the propeller showing that everything had been flattened and broken, and therefore, the propeller was rotating freely around its axis. All is back in shape now.

I finished the diving morning by rubbing the hull under water to remove the very light layer of green algae that were present on some part.

In the afternoon, we went back to the cliff, but from land, for another perspective.

Roots resisting the erosion of the soil. For how long more?

Picture taken using a iPhone. Amazing depth of field!

Next to fall?
Or this one?
