On 28 May we left Messina to cross the Strait of Messina.
A swordfish boat can be seen in the picture below. This remains as an amazing picture where you can see the pilot steering the boat from the mast and the spearman in the front galley.

The traffic is heavy in the strait. We are allowed to cross the strait, but need to remain connected through VHF to ensure coordination across the ships crossing up and down the busy line where huge cruising ships can be seen, as below.
Below is a smaller still amazing picture of a swordfish fishing ship along the coast.

The following three images are astonishing, but most disturbing!
It is not clear why there are so many shipwrecks along the coast. But most disturbing form any sailor sailing along this coast :-)
Then, eventually, we arrive in Krotons Yatch Club where we will stopover for 2 days...
