We decided to leave Oxelösund for Mem, the entrance of the Göta kanal given the very supportive back winds to be expected today on this 32 nautical mile journey. One of the first landmark on the way to Mem was the pilot station located at the Femöre fort location.
After a long cruise towards south-west, we passed Stegeborg, 8 nautical miles before Men.
To much of our surprise, when reaching Mem, the entrance lof the Göta Kanal, we realised that we are not allowed to get in before June 15, despite having paid for the full season price. Not clear about what was the rationale behind not allowing us in while pre-season customers, maying less were allowed to get in...
