Lidön is a small island at the far east part of the Stockholm Archipelago. It marks the end of the archipelago, and the start of the open sea. It is the main way out of Stockholm for most cruises.
The first passing us is the S/S Frithiof. She was built in 1897, for the Stockholm exhibition.
These geese, we passed, along Djurgården.
These are boats preparing for the Round Gotland Race, one of the classic sailing races. In 1967, Eric Tabularly won the race with Pen Duick III. This year, more than 300 boats are racing over the 350 miles of the race. It will depart on the 3 July.
Next, the RIB terrors, getting to the outer archipelago at full speed, for tourists in a hurry.
Finally, Gustafsberg VII overtakes us on her way to ... Gustavsberg. She was built in 1912 by the family owning the Gustavsberg porcelain and was designed so that she could pass the narrow passages of the Baggenstäket. Note the very primitive fenders made of pieces of wood.
