Rauma, a must, 19-20 July 2019

Rauma (61.141226, 21.472628) is the most interesting stopover we had in Finland this season. Rauma is a city with a long tradition of sailing.

Tatoo exhibit in the Rauma maritime museum.

There are three marinas in the SXK pilot book for Rauma. We chose to land on the Syvärauma marina after having checked on the google map areal picture that it has large catways just perfect to accommodate Belisama. A few hundred metres from the city center but not a problem with our bikes.

We start the day with the Rauma maritime museum on the way from the marina to the city centre, worth a visit.

The town of Rauma is listed as a Unesco world heritage site. In the centre of the town is the Church of the holy cross, the most decorated church with frescoes that we visited in Finland this season.
