30/31 October - Yet another last sailing weekend for the season

Well,  we could not resist for another weekend at sea for this season. Temperatures are now getting one digit above zero and days are getting short, with the sun setting few minutes before 16:00. Yet, still very much sunny and enjoyable as long as you arrive in time and switch on the heater for the long evening.

28 October - Belisama moves to Pampas Lake City

We took a day off today to move Belisama from the private dock where we left her on Sunday to one  of the available slot in the Pampas Lake City. Quite interesting to moor a sailing boat between two floating houses. Weather was fantastic, but the nights are really getting shorter these days in Stockholm.

23/25 October - Last sailing for 2015

This was the last sailing weekend of the year. Temperatures are now close to zero in the morning, and it is time to get Belisama serviced for the winter and parked in Pampas Marina. She had been already three weeks in Södertälje, quite covered by Duck droppings.

The ferry to Drottningholm heading back to Stockholm
For this last cruise, we decided to spend the night in Drottningholm, the castle of the Queen, a few miles away from downtown Stockholm.

2/4 October - La Malouine land-borne, Belisama on her way to Stockholm

First weekend of October, we have hired two crane-trucks to get boats back to the field. The season has been 146 days since sjösättning on 9 May. With 1800 miles on waters, I beat this year all my records, with an average of more than 12 miles everyday over the season.

19/20 September - Bringing La Malouine to Rangsta

Back to Sweden after having brought Belisama to Nynäshamn, I brought back La Malouine from Löparö where she had been for the summer to the good care of Johan and Suzanne. Very strong wind on Friday afternoon, with one tree in Tomteboda being turned down. However, the night was quiet, and I started the journey on Saturday morning.

11 - 12 September - A meteor festival

In French, meteor is used in a generic sense to refer to any phenomenon occurring "up there" (en-haut), not just the trail of shooting stars.

Double rainbow over Den Helder
This rainbow over the pass out of Den Helder tells you the kind of weather we experienced on this day. Interestingly on the left, there is a second rainbow. Note that the order of colours are always inverted in the second rainbow!

Furthermore, note that the sky within the primary bow is brighter than the sky outside! The darker band of sky around the primary bow is called the "Alexander band". See wikipedia for all explanations!
