Stéphane, who had been a pilar in Belisama cruises along the years in the Baltic sea is leaving Belisama in Lisbon after three weeks from Rochefort, to be replaced by Pieter, a new comer on Belisama, but quite a seaworthy sailor from previous cruises all around.

A bit further upstream isn the monument of the discoveries. This monument illustrates the explorations during the XV and XVI century by Portuguese sailors and celebrates their discoveries. On the faces of the monument are represented the most famous explorers of these times that Portugal ruled the world, among which Vasco de Gama and Ferdinand Magellan are standing out,

I decided to get to the marina the closest to the airport, which is the Martina Expo, the most upstream marina in the Tage river. Given the tides, it will take us hours to reach it, but still in time to get the sluss opened for us.

Overall, a very short stopover as time flies and the weather forecast is not very clean for the coming days, with strong head winds in the 25m/s forecasted during the coming weekend. We therefore need tot southward as fast as feasible, while it lasts...
