Waves in the making - Kloten, 9-11 February

We spent the weekend in Kloten, at Nordic Discovery "Kloten city". A very nice place for a weekend with a warm welcome and good care provided! This is a fantastic spot to release pressure from the working week in the wilderness, two and a half hours west of Stockholm.

This gave us a nice opportunity to visit next summer Baltic waves in the making...

We have had a good year so far for snow in Stockholm and all around. Driving on Friday evening on snowy roads, I was contemplating all the water trapped in the snow on land, that will reach the Baltic in the spring and become the water on which we will sail all along the summer. Nice feeling, only interrupted by deers on the road!

Minus 3°C outside, for nice nordic skying and snow shoeing in an untouched nature.

In fact, the waters falling from the land towards the sea are celebrated in Sweden on "Sista april" or "Valborg", on 30 April every year. In Uppsala for example, students are building all sorts of rafts to go downstream through the "Fyris" city river.
