A mushroom party - 28 August - 3 September

The weekend for the cousinades was particularly nice in Nåttarö. There were still a few boats in the Östermarsfladen despite the fact that school had started again. Over the weekend, we had good weather, good (sous vide) food, good company, good wine and good singing!

But we had particularly good mushrooming!


Going in the forest for picking mushroom is a bit like going at sea. You are outdoor, trying to find your way, mindful of the environment while relaxed, active while not busy... Of course, you can make unexpected encounters such as this anthill, and the couple of ant highways deserving it. The kind of places where one should not stop in fear of being attacked by angry ants. And it happens as you can see on the picture below.

In fact, picking mushroom in the forest is quite common among Swedes, and the forest, as the sea in fact is as well the place for fears, legends, witches and other tomte. I cannot resist showing you this picture of Erik Johansson, a Swedish artist with fantastiskt illusion pictures depicting Sweden.

Well, we survived the ant holland found a good bunch of chanterelles, one of the best mushroom one can find around here.

At the end of the day, the harvest was satisfactory. The picture is taken on the cockpit table of Belisama.

After a good cleaning, three salad dishes ready for cooking, eating and preservation.
