Back on sailing, Grönhögen - Karlskrona, 4 July 2017

After two days of gale in Grönhögen, the forecast was fine today to allow us to sail to Karlskrona. Two nights quite sleepless given how shaky was Belisama in Grönhögen with westerly winds. Late evening, she even broke one of her 20 mm diameter mooring lines with the noise of a broken guitar string!

But after a fine day of sailing, Karlskrona was preparing a dark welcome...
The 10 m/s west wind in the morning was fine, but it turned south west by mid afternoon, and we had to tack our way to pass the southern tip of the coast.
42 nm, from Grönhögen to Kalrskrona, including the xtra miles for tacking...
The video shows the sailing in the first part of the day...

Then, we decided to take a short-cut, after quite a bit of hesitation given the fact that Navionics was only giving between 0.5 and 1 metre depth along the passage... But it looked like a real passage for boats, and I assumed that Belisama would be able to pass with her 1.05 metres depth. Which she did, the depth not going under 2.4 metres!

Shortcut between Ungskär and Utlängan. Not much inviting on the map!
Then things got worse, with a succession of dark clouds, cold showers, thunderstorms...
Couple of showers and thunderstorms upon arrival in Karlskrona.
We managed to get through a few and reach Karlskrona between two...
