Sailing to Grinda - 12 - 14 May

Following the snow storms of last weekend, we decided not to go too far this time. Destination Grinda, one of the most touristic place in the archipelago as it is a real archipelago island, but located two hours by ferry from Stockholm, therefore quite popular for short term visitors wanting to have an archipelago experience.

Eventless sail with light winds allowing getting sails off for the first time this season. The spring is just around the corner and the scenery around there is fanstastiskt!

Nice sunny freezing day, with a north east polar wind. Mos trees do not have yet all their leaves. Another week, not more.

Dream island!

As a cloud hunter, I cannot miss the wave of lenticular clouds along the bank of the fjord on the way out to the archipelago. Those are called mechanical clouds as they arise from obstacles that the wind encounters, which forces air to go higher a become a cloud.
A series of lenticular clouds.
