A bridge further - 3 October 2016

After a night along the way, we enter Stockholm and its bridges opening once every hour. Still many boats with masts over 14 metres in this sunny Sunday afternoon. On the menu, the three bridges of Liljeholmsbron, Skansbron and Dansvikbron and a lock. By now, you have understood that "born" means bridge in Swedish.

Liljeholmsbron
Climbing training in Danvikbron.
A cloud hunter always keeps an eye up. Passing through Hammarby, our attention is attracted by the contrail of a plane passing above us. Nothing unusual these days, even on Sundays. But what could be the explanation of the dark line preceding (!) the plane???

A zoom shows clearly that the plane is moving along the dark line! The only explanation we can up with is that the dark line is the shadow of the contrail projected ahead of the plane and below by the low autumn Swedish sun. A good illustration of the effect of contrails on climate change.
