Solo sailing this weekend to bring La Malouine to her summer quarter, to the good care of Johan, while I will be fetching Belisama.

Saturday evening, leaving the lock at Södertälje to enter Mälaren
Sunday morning, heading north-east through an archipelago of cormoran colonies, smelling awfull miles downwind!

Hard to believe nos these boats were operated. The Captain at the top has the same device, indicating 4 levels forward and backward, as well as a neutral. At the steam engine, the mechanic is informed of any request for change by a bell. He then takes action to change gear and speed accordingly.
Witnessing this is just incredible!
