Start of the mushroom season in Mariefred, 2 August

Leaving Göteborg and Belisama for a week in Stockholm, I went to Croatia to buy a house and just came back for the weekend for mushroom picking in Mariefred.

Mariefred  Castle.
It was not the best harvest that we had, but the yellow chanterelles were most welcome with the torsk fish we had for diner!

The runestone below says "Hälgulv and Öulv, they had this stone raised in memory of their brother Kätilmund, and build a bridge in memory of their Mother Brune. Her brother carved the runes".

"This stone was set up by Tola in memory of her son Harald. He was Ingvar, the far-travelled-s brother"
"They fared like men far after gold and in the east gave the eagle food. They died southward in Serkland."

Serkland was the land of the "Saracens".

Now comes the travel to Croatia, initially back to France in the next three weeks through Den Helder, Dunkirk, Cherbourg, Brest and Belle-île. Departure on Sunday after Niklas arrives!
