Last night in Wasahamnen, nice weather forecasted for tomorrow, 8 May.
The last few days have been frantic about preparing the fermented food for the sailing season. We spent a full day with Stéphane to pot coleslaw, sauerkraut and tomatoes on the back row, pickles, beet roots and garlic on the front row. Fermenting food is magic. These clip top jars have their place in the hull of Belisama, and they will provide nice rich veggies for all along the season, without the need to sterilise, to vacuum or to refrigerate! Should you need inspiration for fermented food, look at the blog Ni cru ni cuit!
En route, we overtake Sunbeam from Uppsala, a ketch built in 1905 in Lowestoft, East Anglia, first used as a trawler in the North-Sea, then as a marine research boat in the Baltic.
