A good start of the mushroom season, 1 September

Two days ago while on Stallarholmen in the Mälaren, I had a good boletus risotto, having found few boletus mushrooms along the way while biking in Selaön. We decided for the weekend, to get back to this forest to explore a bit more its mushroom resources...

This is the harvest after a few hours in the forest...
And they proved to be huge!

Another view of the harvest in the kitchen. Mostly the best, the Karl Johan boletus (Cèpes de Bordeaux).

A few specimen on the spot in the forest...

A saffron-milk cap mushroom, a delicious one that cannot be mistaken as it "bleeds" orange when the stem is cut.

The saffron ring that appears around the stream of the saffron-milk cap mushroom when cut.

Bags of lightly boiled boletus ready to go to the freezer...

Karljohan mushrooms being dried on absorbing paper.
