Last cruise for 2017 - 22 October 2017

Last cruise of the year to refill the tank before the hibernation in Wasahamnen. It is 7°C, but there is a nice low sun to accompany us. It takes forever to add the adjuvant for diesel in each of the tanks and to fill the tanks 50 litres by 50 litres, as the automat only delivers 50 litres at a time on a credit card. And the tanks are totalling 540 litres... Well, the tanks were not empty and it took only five runs to fill them up.

On the way back, we parked Belisama in the corner where she will be for the winter, same place as last year.

The autumn this year has been exceptionally good for mushrooms. We are filled for the whole winter with dry and frozen boletus. Below, different types of boletus, and on the bottom left, the Lactarius sanguifluus, commonly known as the bloody milk cap, which Wikipedia says does not exist in Sweden...

Below are the Craterellus tubaeformis, alias brown chanterelles. It only grows in symbiosis with other plants, particularly on moss as you can see. It is called as well the winter mushroom as it is only growing late in the season.

Here is the catch after almost two hours in the forest last Saturday. Lot of work for cleaning and frying before keeping in the fridge for couple of days. These ones will go in "tartiflettes forestières" and soup.

Below is the pied-de-mouton, alias Hydnum repandum, or sweet tooth in English. Very good fried! Picked at the same time as the chanterelles above.

Finally, the latest improvement onboard Belisama.

First, in the space below the desk, where we store the shoes, we have made separation using mesh and webbing for ensuring that shoes and life jackets above the shoes stay in place while sailing.

Then, I eventually identified the perfect fabric at Easyflags for sewing French flags, with the right ratio for each coloured band (30% blue, 33% white and 37% red). It looks perfect, does not make any noise even by heavy wind, but is difficult to sew because of the softness of the fabric.

A rainy weekend resulted in the sewing of a cushion over the seat of the tender, and a bag under it for storing life jackets and a small anchor for the tender.

And last, so far, a small board to set on the top compartment of the kitchen cupboards, tired of opening the cupboard doors after a good sale, just to see all plates and stuff falling-out!

Never ending on a boat, but this is why we love them!
