Klintholm to Rødvig, through Vordingborg - 19-20 July 2017

After years in Sweden, one gets amazed as soon as seing colours in the fields. Denmark is part of continental Europe, and I am getting the same feeling I have when driving from Sweden to southern Europe, that continental Europe starts in Denmark. I realise that I am missing it when I see it, but not at all when I don't. Isn't it perfect?

Blooming fields around Klintholm.

Close to Klintholm, in Elmelunde, is one of the most decorated churches of Denmark. Elmelunde is the oldest stone church in Møn, which was established in 1085.

The painting in the church are from the 1400s' and are known as the best in Denmark.

The visit of the church represent a visit back to my old church school days...
And God created Eva off a rib of Adam...
And Eva was tempted by the snake and offered an apple from the tree of knowledge to Adam. Thanks to Eva+++.
And they got chased from the paradise and had to work their way through life...
A bit more gore, the massacre of the innocents by Herod, in an attempt to prevent the arrival of the Messi.
Marie and Joseph escape to Egypt.
Jesus is crucified...
And resurrect...
The altar in Elmelunde church.
Below is an interesting orographic cloud observed when passing (for the third time) the point of Klintholm, heading up north this time to Rødvig. Such clouds are created by the elevation of wet air over natural obstacle which transform in clouds when conditions are met. This one is following very nicely the top of the Klintholm cliffs. One variant of such clouds is the rotor cloud that forms ahead of such orographic clouds. Beware of the rotor clouds, as they create extreme conditions in a matter of minutes. I experienced one a few years ago.

    1. Not much info in the church. On https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fanefjord_Church, they indicate a group of local artists on Møn who decorated several churches there, inspired by illustrated bibles circulating at the time.
